This week is Versus Week! It is a big week, and I am so excited about what our God will do for His glory in the lives of countless men for Christ. Think about it – as you impact a man for Christ, you impact a marriage, children, a workplace, a community and generations. This is our prayer with Versus. We do a yearly event – this coming Thursday, May 4, 2023 – then Versus Bible Study Groups, monthly podcasts (Men’s Leadership) and Man Minutes weekly. It is incredible to see how our God is moving in the lives of men at Rolling Hills. I am so thankful!
Versus was started because we saw the need in the lives of men. For so many men, life is hard. Men feel the weight of trying to provide for their families, do their jobs, take care of their kids, pay the bills and many times men just feel alone. Men feel isolated. We grow up with friends, but life becomes so busy and hard that men put their heads down and just try to plow through. Many men shut down emotionally and even check out on life. All men need the Lord and men also need one another. Men need time to be men, to feel appreciated, and to find community. Men don’t need to go alone.
This coming Thursday is our big Versus Event. We will be at the Williamson County Ag Center with an incredible night of Fellowship, Worship, BBQ, and Comedy. We have a special guest – Jeff Foxworthy. Seriously – the Jeff Foxworthy. He is hilarious and awesome! Also, Mike Fisher and Ryan Smyth, two NHL greats, will be sharing their stories. We have the Versus band – all incredible men! And, BBQ smoked by our own men’s team. Games, Dessert trucks, Bull riding and more. All great things for men!
We need your help this week in two ways: 1. Pray for Versus this Thursday night, May 4. Pray for our God to move in a mighty way and to transform lives for His glory. Jesus took 11 men and changed the world. What could He do through all the men gathered together that night?
2. Invite. Invite a man to come. A buddy, a friend, your husband, son, or co-worker. This is an incredible opportunity for them to have a great time and to grow deeper in Christ Jesus! Let’s not miss it!
